We are seeking a Medical Assistant (PRN) to join our team. You will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient clinical operations and the delivery of excellent patient services.

How you will make an impact

  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Take vital signs, record patient information, and update medical records accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure that patient information is complete and up to date.
  • Assist in coding and billing procedures as required.
  • Greet patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Answer patient inquiries and provide information on medical procedures and appointments.
  • Prepare and educate patients on any necessary pre-appointment instructions.
  • Collect blood samples and other specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens to maintain accuracy and integrity.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sanitary clinical environment.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure that medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Manage inventory and restock medical supplies as necessary.

What we are looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
  • Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Flexibility to work PRN hours, including evenings and weekends, based on facility needs.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.
  • PRN employees may be called in to work on short notice, and shifts may vary based on staffing needs.
  • The Medical Assistant PRN may need to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and move patients or equipment.
