The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is directly responsible for the Pharmacy and Pharmacy Operations under their control.  Sometimes referred to as Prescription Department Manager (PDM) by states.  They will create and ensure adherence to corporate and facility Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and policies, as well as adherence to state and federal regulations.  They will directly supervise Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, in pharmacy, clinics, and mobile treatment facilities.  The PIC will work directly with corporate leadership, medical directors over state, tele-medicine groups servicing state, operations leadership, and state/area cold chain managers to ensure production goals are achieved.  Assist with investigations, assist in daily operational pharmacy duties, monitor training and work with training/compliance team to ensure all training is up to date.  The PIC will also serve as a staff pharmacist when needed (with all duties and responsibilities outlined in the Staff Pharmacist job description).   

Under indirect supervision, the PIC oversees all aspects of the pharmacy operations. Ensures that all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws. Exercises broad judgment in professional field requiring extensive subject matter knowledge and expertise, while keeping senior leadership fully informed of operating issues and results.  Is responsible to ensure pharmacy operations are staffed for hours required for operations needed in support of Nomi Pharma and Nomi Health.  This individual serves as the “Responsible Person” for all pharmacy items under their control.  They are ultimately the one responsible for all the personnel and their activities in the designated pharmacy area.  

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Creation, licensing, and maintenance of physical pharmacies 
  • Assist in hiring of pharmacy personnel 
  • Monitoring operations to ensure that thresholds for service are met 
  • Responsible for the execution of opening and closing activities; either directly, or through delegation to a staff pharmacist. Ensuring that strict procedures are followed around the facility. 
  • Create and manage schedules for pharmacy duties, including personnel and resources.  
  • Represent the facility in all state and federal regulatory audits, visits, and communication. 
  • Directly supervise staff pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel, in pharmacy, clinics and mobile treatment facilities. 
  • Directly and/or indirectly supervises Cold Chain Personnel that are working on behalf of Medical Directors for medical cold chain items. 
  • Writing operational and productional Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). 
  • Liaison with other departments. 
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies. 
  • Assist in documentation and completion of Adverse Drug Event forms. 
  • Answer clinical questions from health professionals and provide product information. 
  • Support order verification within computer order processing queue to ensure facility and product accuracy. 
  • Review of all batch records and associated documentation verification. 
  • Ensures controlled-substance database recordings are filed in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Ensuring safe work environments, enforcing operational discipline, and monitoring aseptic behaviors. 
  • Efficiently utilize tools and metrics (KPI’s) to monitor staff productivity, deliverables, timelines, and quality of work product to adjust staffing levels and operational processes as needed to ensure operational effectiveness. 
  • Understanding of the importance/impact of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. 
  • Maintain state pharmacy license(s) and when required Cold Chain state agreements. 
  • Supporting sales and program management to ensure needed operational activates to support the growing company’s needs. 
  • Will be the focal point for Flu Vaccine clinics that are performed by the Pharmacy personnel. 
  • Reports all issues to Manager, Supervisor, or other Nomi leadership 
  • Travel is required, including overnight, or alternate work locations 
  • Independently identify and implement process improvement opportunities 
  • Other Duties as Assigned 

What We Are Looking For

  • RPH or PharmD Required.  PharmD Preferred 
  • Licensed to work as a pharmacist in the state where the Pharmacy is located 
  • Open to obtain license(s) in other states as required 
  • Vaccination certification (when needed by Board of Pharmacy) preferred  
  • A resident of the state where physical pharmacy is located (Florida)
  • English language proficiency required, Spanish proficiency is helpful 
  • Candidates must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed, this is a salary position, and PIC will be expected to manage Pharmacy related workload
