AUSTIN (Oct. 26, 2022) – Nomi Health, the direct health care company making it easier than ever to access the highest quality affordable care across the U.S, celebrates the grand opening of its regional office in Austin, Tex. Nomi Health’s Austin location is one of four offices opening nationwide as the company expands rapidly to meet extraordinary demand from organizations turning to them for innovative health care delivery support and payment solutions.
"Texas is my home, and it is home to nearly 60 Nomi Health employees at our Austin office and other dedicated team members statewide. From the capital to the border, the biggest cities and the smallest towns, we are deeply committed to helping Texas thrive by rewiring how care is paid for and delivered,” Boe Hartman, co-founder and chief technology officer of Nomi Health, said. “Whether administering COVID-19 and monkeypox vaccines or advocating for sweeping health care policy changes, we are driven to improve health care statewide and plan to continue growing our presence here to do so.”
Nomi Health’s direct delivery model creates a “third lane” in the health care system that brings care to people directly through stand-up clinics and mobile care units — a massive shift from America’s decades-long standard of making people seek out care. Texas has been a pivotal location for Nomi Health since May 2021, when it partnered with the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide no-cost, burden-free COVID-19 testing. The company served more than 115,000 Texans in the first eight months of the pandemic with its end-to-end community testing solution and equipping the State with critical data, allowing leaders to make real-time decisions about COVID response. Nomi Health so far has provided nearly 200,000 COVID tests and 20,000 COVID vaccines statewide and continues serving uninsured patients over a year beyond the end of federal reimbursements, offering direct testing for residents at no cost, insured or not.
Beyond direct care delivery, Nomi Health also has worked in the Texas Capitol to help shape health care policy, including the passage last session of the Texas gold card bill, which reduces prior authorization requirements and helps patients get the treatment they need when they need it.
As part of its commitment to supporting causes in the communities where their employees live and work, Nomi Health is marking its Austin grand opening with a $30,000 donation to the University of Texas at Austin’s Girl Day program designed to introduce middle school girls to exciting careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In Central Texas, Nomi also supports CASA of Travis County, has donated much-needed infant formula to Any Baby Can, and partnered with Austin Independent School District, South by Southwest, Austin City Limits and The Long Center for Performing Arts to provide no-cost COVID testing. Statewide, the company sponsored no-cost therapy and mental health services through Tava Health for Texas frontline health care workers and for the Uvalde community following the school shooting tragedy.
Nomi Health is seeking people who want to help make health care affordable and accessible for all. View open positions in Austin and across Texas and the U.S. at www.nomihealth.com/careers.
