When a clinical van became available at Nomi Health, one employee saw an opportunity to make a lasting impact. A Texas native and longtime advocate for community health, Jacqueline Suttin had previously volunteered with Kind Clinic, a healthcare organization dedicated to providing compassionate, affirming, patient-centered care. Initially, the idea was a simple one—donate funding to support the area of Kind Clinic that needed it most.

After presenting to the Nomi Health Foundation Board, the conversation evolved. The board was deeply moved by Kind Clinic’s mission, and the timing aligned perfectly with an opportunity: a clinical van that was no longer in use could be repurposed to support Kind Clinic’s upcoming expansion.

We were originally discussing a financial donation, but when I shared more about Kind Clinic’s work, the board saw an opportunity to make an even greater impact. The van was available, and it was clear it could be a game-changer for them. We coordinated to ensure it was up to code and wrapped in company branding, and before we knew it, it was up and running—now serving the Dallas area.

This donation exemplifies the mission of Nomi Health Foundation’s Community Champions initiative, which empowers employees to support the causes they care about in their local communities. Recognizing that those closest to a community understand its needs best, the program provides grants and resources for grassroots impact. I believe that at some point, we will all be patients, and when that time comes, we should have care that is not only accessible but also compassionate.”

With this donation, Kind Clinic can expand its reach, ensuring more people receive the affirming healthcare they deserve. This milestone not only celebrates 10 years of Kind Clinic’s impact but also reflects the power of collective action in transforming healthcare access
